The Saloon Bar

VISIT LANTY SLEE's elterwater

Lanty Slee once again has a home in The Langdale Valley at The Wayside Pulpit on Elterwater Common.

Known as the ‘Saloon Bar’ as they were in 19th century Northern England we have created a venue to pay tribute to Lanty Slee, curate his history and introduce you to our incredible range of Fine Spirits.

We serve amazing cooked breakfasts alongside single origin leaf teas, coffee’s and hot chocolates from 10 am, Monday to Sunday and we offering an exceptional tapas sty;e menu featuring a great range of comfort style, delicious sharing plates.

We have put together a selection of our favourite fine Wines, Roederer Champagnes and serve chilled handles of imported Budvar alongside local cask conditioned bottled Ales, Cider and more.

We have been open since the end of August and will soon begin to offer tasting sessions and cocktail masterclasses where you will be able to learn to perfect some of our signature cocktails and experience the spirit of Langdale right where it all began.

Bessie, Hristina and the team look forward to welcoming you.

Exceptional What a perfect New Year’s Eve lunch. Could not have been better SUPERB food and outstanding service. Despite being a large party of 9. Well done Lanty Slee.
Impressive. I’ve visited this place for many years and drank many a pint and gawped at the landscape. The new owners look to be continuing the job of good food and beer, we’ve just had an amazing curry with a beautiful homemade naan bread. Staff are friendly and service is very quick. Good luck to them, first impressions are very positive.
Cocktails in the Fells! Who'd a thought there'd be a cocktail bar in the fells! Well on a wet and windy night, just before Christmas, we popped over for a look. Very welcoming and serving real cocktails, not just a big glass full of ice. I can recommend the Smugglers Punch, just the right amount of acidity and sweetness. Lovely. We decided that although we'd just has dinner at the pub, we couldn't resist a cheeky plate of chicken wings! Perfect. Lovely crisp coating. Would have loved to come for breakfast but sadly not open before 12, I think the Stickle Barn is open for breakfast, but not that close to Christmas. Shame. So to sum up, fantastic cocktails and tapas, warm welcome. Certainly not cheap so do make sure you've looked at the menu before you go. £25 for 2 cocktails. £13 for the wings. A great addition to the Elterwater scene!
Quirky addition but LOVE LOVE LOVE !!!!! What a way to convert a building. Formally a local church. This little restaurant/cocktail bar is a gorgeous addition to the Langdale area and in perfect reach if staying at the Langdale estate. Great staff, great menu , amazing tasty food and fabulous cocktails!!!!!!’

Quirky Lunch with Great Service A lovely sharing menu with small dishes which were well cooked and flavoursome. The service was great. The location beautiful despite being a rather wet day. Extensive drinks menu including some lovely cocktails. Highly recommend for a quirky little lunch venue.

Great food and drink After a great day walking, called in at the Lanty Slees for a quick beer before heading home. We was made very welcome and we all had a cold beer in cool glasses. We ended up staying for more then one beer and ended eating there, and had some amazing food all cooked by the head chef Tommy. If your in the area it’s worth dropping in. Not your usual lakes pub, but something a little different and special
A little gem in the wilderness Me, my father and brother called in for a pint after a long walk. The hospitality was soo good we stayed for quite a few more. Theo was the best host you could imagine! Fun, chatty, and letting us try his array of locally sourced produce. Superb afternoon! We will 100% be back! The honey-marmalade rum was to die for!
